As tens of thousands of motorists
head home after the Easter Weekend, traffic volumes will again pick on the
country’s roads in the next few hours.
About 300 people were killed
over the 2015 Easter period. Authorities will be stationed on all major routes
around the country today, with heavy traffic expected on the final day of the
Easter long weekend.
Traffic officials have had
their hands full this weekend trying to reduce the number of fatalities
compared to last year.
The Western Cape traffic
department’s Chief Kenny Africa says they have seen a change in behaviour on
the roads this year.
