It has been reported that an increasing number of young South African women has been arrested for drunk driving this festive season.
However, men still make out to be the majority of drunk drivers in the country.
The latest statistics released from the Road Traffic Management Corporation showed that between 25% and 30% of motorists arrested for drunk driving this festive season were women.
Meanwhile, Managing Director of driving training company driving.co.za, Handfield-Jones, said the statistics were unreliable because few people were arrested for drinking and driving.
One of the biggest threats to South Africa’s road safety remains drunk driving.
