The search for a French couple continues who shot a police officer and wounded another last week on a farm in Sutherland.
The police's Hendrik Swart says, “Philippe Pierre Meniere, a 60-year-old medical doctor and his 55-year-old wife Agnes Jeanne Jardel are on the run after they shot at police and the owner of the farm they were staying on.”
It is alleged that the farmer called on the police to assist him in evicting the couple who were in possession of illegal firearms.
The couple is believed to be armed and dangerous.
