Action to be taken against the boat owner which left six people dead

Investigations are still underway into the ferry that sank during an end of year function, hosted by Sasol which left six people dead.

The South African Maritime Safety authority has stated that it will be taking action against the owner of the boat.

A report by the South African Maritime Safety authority has revealed that the boat was overloaded and the acting skipper did not have a license to pilot the boat.

Samsa’s Saroor Ali “There is a preliminary inquiry which has been set up, also on the person who has certified this boat and the person who issued the certificate will be taken to task and dealt with in a very sizable manner”.
