Lusanda Bill
23 November 2010
The South African Broadcasting Corporation board is appearing before Parliament’s Communications Portfolio Committee today to report back on issues plaguing the troubled broadcaster.
An improvement has been made, through half a billion rand debt that was knocked out.
The appointment of Phil Molefe as Head of News created great amounts of controversy.
This was because announcement was made in June, but his appointment was declared null and void after 10 of the 12 board members held a meeting to discuss it.
Board member Cedric Gina told the Communications Portfolio Committee that four candidates were short listed for the position, but on 6 September the board appointed Molefe.
