National Commissioner of Police, General Bheki Cele has has made an announcement that, acting Western Cape Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Arno Lamoer has been permanently been appointed to the position with immediate effect.
SAPS’s Vish Naidoo said Cele is more than pleased to appoint Lamoer with immediate effect.
The 50-year-old General joined the South African Police Service 30 years ago and has been acting commissioner in the province since Mzwandile Petros moved to Gauteng.
“As a well a trained and experienced officer, coupled with his immeasurable knowledge of the Western Cape, General Lamoer is well suited to lead the police in that province”, said General Bheki Cele in a statement.
