AgriSA says winning the Square Kilometre Array bid could hold enormous advantages for South Africa.

AgriSA believes that it will specifically benefit the Northern Cape and stimulate technological development.

AgriSA has been involved in the project for the past two years creating a forum to look after the interests of farmers who are affected by it.

Farmers were especially worried about the suspension of cell phone communication in the area.

But AgriSA says agreements have now been concluded regarding the installation of alternative satellite communication.
