A shack fire occurred last night in Wallacedene near Kraaifontein.
The fire destroyed about 5 backyard dwellings and also 2 formal houses were burnt down.
Disaster Risk Management Centre`s Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said that 25 people were displaced and one person died.
Solomons-Johannes further said that the City`s disaster response team will provide humanitarian and social relief aid today.
Solomons-Johannes added the cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
