The DA has expressed that they want cabinet to explain short-sighted rejection of the Telkom share sale.
The DA has asked that the Minister of Communications Dina Pule explain whether there was a sound business reason behind cabinet’s decision not to support the sale of a 20% stake in Telkom to South Korea’s telecommunications giant KT Corp.
DA shadow Minister of Communications Marian Shinn said the government is a major shareholder in Telkom and if it didn’t want to sell its shares in Telkom to KT Corp, then they shouldn’t have started the negotiations in the first place.
She added that there is obviously something else that’s not allowing this deal between Telkom and KT Corp to go ahead.
