Today in parliament the Deputy Chairperson of the NCOP Thandi Memela launched the National Youth in Parliament.
She highlighted key issues which youth in South Africa face today.
Memela said with the majority of South Africans being aged between 17 and 34 and it is only logical that there should be development for that age group.
She also said the youth should continue to be activists of the process of youth development.
She said there are many challenges which face the youth today.
The challenges include unemployment, substance abuse (drugs and alcohol), teenage pregnancy and the HIV-Aids pandemic.
