Former crime intelligence boss Richard Mdluli will fight his suspension from the police force.
The SAPS legal department on Friday received papers from Mdluli’s lawyers challenging his suspension.
The case is set to be heard in the labour court on Monday.
Mdluli was under investigation for murder and fraud but was reinstated as head of crime intelligence earlier this year after charges were withdrawn.
Late last month he was once again suspended from his position.
