Police have rubbished claims that they have not responded to the City of Cape Town on a plan to train law enforcement reservists for communities in Cape Town.
Western Cape Police Commissioner Arno Lamoer said regards to the article in the newspaper this morning, what ever has been said is not true.
Lamoer said the two facts are, although they applied to become law enforcement officers, there is a process to follow.
The process is submitting an application which goes to national office because it is a policy matter.
Lamoer added that the same type pf application was already received during 2006 for the Metro Police and it was not approved by the national commissioner at that stage.
