Western Cape MEC Cultural Affairs and
Sports Dr Ivan Meyer will today officially launch South African Library
Week.
MEC Meyer is also expected to hand over a
donation of books to the Early Learning Project as well as the Parental
Learning Project.
Library week is celebrated from the 16th
to the 23rd of March 2013 .
Ministerial Spokesperson Daniel Johnson
said that they are very excited because the theme of 2013 library week is “Get
Educated at your Library” which means it allows them to reconfirm their
commitment to life long learning, leaning from as young as possible to as old
as possible.
Johnson added that they believe their
libraries are an embodiment of the notion of life long learning.
