Rail Safety Regulator to hold annual safety conference

The Rail Safety Regulator will hold their annual rail safety conference on the 12 and the 13th of March 2013.

Acting Senior Manager for communications Babalwa Mpendu says the conference is in line with the recent spate of train collisions across the country, it is also an opportunity for the RSR to address operators on critical safety issues that have contributed to accidents.

Mpendu adds that they will have international and local experts in the industry will be talking on matter and issues of safety and how to better position rail over any preferred mode of transport by ensuring that safety is the priority.

Mpendu furthermore said this conference is envisioned to also to create a platform for collaborative network for people within the industry and they will also be commissioned and it will be taking place and focus on a number of issues such as the reduction of incidents.
