The Western Cape Human Settlements Department handed over title deeds to 270 beneficiaries who included 54 pensioners in Kannaland Municipality.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bruce Oom said the department is focused on creating enabling environments that support people in their journey to economic freedom.

Oom said today there were about 55 beneficiaries and these are all the people that are over the age of 65 years and the oldest was a 94 year-old.

Oom added that it is very important that people of all ages get their title deeds and shows that people are being empowered.
