A man hospitalized after he had appendicitis on sea

National Sea Rescue Institute in Hout Bay and volunteer sea rescue duty crew were alerted by the Transnet National Ports Authority to prepare to launch to rendezvous with the 220 meter bulk carrier SUN ORCHID, sailing from Singapore to Brazil.

It reported that a 24 year old Filipino crewman onboard suspected to be suffering appendicitis.

The WC Government Health EMS were also placed on alerted.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said the man was taking to hospital in a stable condition and now he is recovering.
