The National Debt Mediation Association is urging consumers to be wary of unscrupulous administrators who abuse the process by taking advantage of the lack of knowledge of consumers.

Statistics by the Credit Bureau shows that more than 2.7 million consumers have judgements or administration orders against their names.

NDMA’s Consumer Education Specialist, Thoko Nchabeleng, said they are urging consumers to be able to ask the right questions and to know what they are getting themselves into

Nchabeleng further added that consumers should not be dependant on the administrator to take care of things, without monitoring it themselves.
