North West Premier Thandi Modise has ordered provincial government departments within her administration to employ more people with disabilities, whites, coloured and Indians as part of building an inclusive society.

Responding to the call by Modise, Exco said they support the call but service delivery to communities should not be compromised.

Premier’s Spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said Premier Modise urged departments to go beyond placing people with disabilities as interns to employing them in the public administration and consciously advance to surpass the set 2% target.

Kgwele added that employment of women to executive positions needs to be accelerated.
