Saldanha Bay Industrial Development Zone to be operational in two weeks

Western Cape MEC of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Alan Winde has welcomed President Jacob Zuma’s hand over of the operator permit for the Saldanha Bay Industrial Development Zone in the next two weeks. 

MEC Winde said the vision is to establish the province as the oil and gas hub for Africa and the Saldanha Bay development zone is crucial in achieving this objective. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste explains according to the feasibility study this project will create 15 000 jobs over the next 10 years.

“It is really a firm result of strong collaboration between the Western government, the DTI as well as the local municipality. MEC Winde has welcomed the saying this is an important initiative that will be launched by the President,” Jooste added.
