Residents of 15 informal settlements in Khayelitsha will on Monday be marking seven days after they have sent their grievances to the major’s office.
Chairperson of Abahlali Basemjondolo in the Western Cape said they will be patiently waiting for the mayor to reply.
“Even if the major does answer us we will make this city and the province if he does not give us what we really want” said Poni.
It has also been reported that residents have blamed the previous government in the province for failing to deliver on thier promises.
“Some of the residents in the area have been in these areas for more than 15 years and when winter approaches they worry for their shack will be flooded”
“We want to be taken serious because all of the political parties they think of us when they want us to vote for them but now we want to remind them that we are still here they must not forget us” said Poni.
