A 24 year old man was arrested this morning for murdering a police Constable in Du Noon.
“The suspect was arrested at about 3am this morning in his home in Du Noon,” said police spokesperson Captain Bernadine Steyn.
Constable Litha Mzukwa, who was stationed at Gugulethu Police station, was stabbed in the chest on Wednesday night.
He was taken to Milnerton hospital where he died yesterday.
The 37 year-old Constable was walking to a shop with his son when they were approached by two men, who they attempted to rob him.
“During the robbery the suspects took the police’s torch and they fled on foot and one suspect is arrested today will appear in the Cape Magistrate Court soon on charges of murder and robbery,” said Captain Steyn.
