Government officials witnessed a crime scene on the premises at Bonteheuwel High school yesterday.
Western Cape education minister Donald Grant and two other provincial cabinet colleagues were at the school when the incident happened.
“Three of them were at the school to look at safety initiative and while they were having the meeting with the school safety committee and the principal, there was screeching of tyres and gun shots,” said MEC spokesperson Bronagh Casey.
Casey said it also shows what learners face everyday, so the ministers will report the incident to the cabinet today.
