Murraysburg police arrested five suspects in connection with the possession of Dagga with a street value of approximately R76 800.00.
“This bust was done yesterday during an integrated intelligence driven Cluster operation between Beaufort-West Vispol- members, central Karoo Dog Unit, Murraysburg Vispol and Crime Information and Gathering”,Said Captain Malcom Pojie.
“Investigation under the command of the station commissioner of Murraysburg, Captain SA Mbesi led the team to the R63 between Murraysburg and the N1 where the members spotted a green Nissan Bakkie and stopped it”, added Captain Pojie.
Further investigations conducted at the scene led to the confiscation of four bags of dagga weighing 76.8kg with an estimate street value of about R 76 800.00.
Captain Potjie also said police also confiscated the Nissan bakkie that transported the dagga.
The five suspects come from Beaufort West and Murraysburg respectively. The dagga was destined for distribution in Murraysburg and originates from Vrystaat.
The suspects will appear in the Murraysburg magistrate court on Monday on a charge of Possession of Dagga.
