A constable stationed at the Harare police station has been arrested for the rape of his eleven year old half sister.
The 25 year old suspect was arrested at his home in Sir Lowry’s Pass late last night.
“ It is believed that the member raped the 11 year old girl, his half sister, over a period of eight years since she was three years old. The allegations came to light after the victim informed her teacher about the incidents,” said Constable Suzan Jantjies from the Somerset West Police station.
The suspect will appear in the Somerset West Magistrates’ Court today.
He faces a charge of rape.
