During routine patrols, Metro Police and Beacon Valley Neighbourhood Watch, were approached by an off duty neighbourhood member who expressed his concern over a house in the area.
Upon further investigation, it came to light that three children; aged 16,12 and four, had been living alone for three weeks without food or electricity.
Besides having to cope without parental care, the house was also unsafe for the children. There were holes in the ceiling and most of the windows were broken.
They were taken to the Mitchells Plain trauma centre who arranged that they be kept at a safe house in the area.
