The Department of Basic Education to award top teachers

The Department of Basic Education is looking for South Africa's top educators.

Nominations for the teacher of the year award close today.

The department's Panyaza Lesufi said that this is an opportunity that they are giving learners to speak out and name the person that gave them an opportunity of a lifetime.

Lesufi also said that the learners will nominate the person that has inspired them.

Lesufi further said that  teachers deserve to be given recognition and need to be made aware that they are making a great and positive impact.
