A fire man died in MoutonsHoek Valley

Emergency Medical Services responded to a call activated by a local West Coast Fire and Rescue team in MoutonsHoek Valley last night.

Seven firemen had been working in the area for the past four days trying to extinguish a fire that had been burning there.

EMS`s Spokesperson Keri Davids said the ground they had been standing on gave way.

Davids also said one man fell thirty metres down the mountain and died instantly.
