Police have warned clinics and hospitals to look out for the wounded suspect who escaped from the Lansdowne police station yesterday.
The suspect was one of five inmates who overpowered police during an attempted escape from the station.
One of the men were shot and killed, one escaped and the other three were taken back into custody.
The Western Cape police commissioner Arno Lamoer said some of the officers were accompanied by staff that cleans the cells when they were overpowered by the men.
