A couple was at home asleep on their farm just outside George when a 16-year-old suspect gained entry to their house by a broken window.

The police’s Malcolm Pojie said the woman got up and saw the suspect in the dining room where he stabbed her in the chest.

The woman died because of the wounds she sustained.

Pojie added a fight later broke out between the husband and the suspect which resulted in the husband being stabbed several times.

The suspect was later found wounded on the farm after the husband managed to fight back.

The suspect sustained injuries to his face as well as a gunshot wound on his left shoulder.

The husband was taken to hospital as well as the suspect and they are both recovering from their wounds.

Pojie said the 16-year-old will appear in court soon.
