A South Korean man went missing after being swept away by a rip current at a Sedgefield beach in the Southern Cape.

The National Sea Rescue Institute says that the 22-year-old’s friend was rescued by local resident Michael Watson at Myoli Beach late on Sunday afternoon.

Police divers have resumed the search for the missing man after an extensive air sea and shore search revealed no sign of him.

A South Korean official who assisted with language interpretation, say that the two men are on a three-month training course in South Africa.
