The Road Traffic Management Corporation has welcomed the City of Cape Town’s attempt to cut  the use of cellphones while driving.

The city has decided to take away the cellphones of motorists caught talking on their phones while driving more than once.

The Corporation’s Ashraf Ismail says people who get caught often pay the fine and forget about the law.

The city says in two months traffic officers will be given radios’ which will show the motorist's record of previous fines.
