Metrorail has reported that an unfortunate incident that occurred last week where a security guard and three protective services employees were attacked by illegal traders at Cape Town station.
Metrorail’s Regional Manager Mthuthuzeli Swartz said the incident is very unfortunate because the traders should know that no trading is allowed to take place on platforms.
Swartz says the vendor’s refusal was demonstrated by stabbing one of the security guards.
He says Metrorail will not tolerate reckless and unlawful behaviour because they have commited to the people of Cape Town that they will keep the stations clean.
