The University of the Western Cape’s Statistics and population studies Department and Faculty of Natural Science, together with the French National Institute Demographic studies and the French Alliance in Cape Town, will host a public conference on population issues known as the future of populations.

Doctor Nancy Stiegler further explains that the conference is a framework of the France, South African seasons 2012 and 2013.

The France South African seasons is a multifaceted bilateral collaboration between France and South Africa, intended to improve mutual understanding by emphasising on the modernity and values that the two countries share.

The Highest authories in the two countries have requested that this edition of the season be organised to reinforce the strong, deep bonds that unite people in the field of culture, to discover new facets of the relationship and to forge long term ties.
