DA wants MEC Dhlomo dismissed

KwaZulu Natal Democratic Alliance has urged the KZN Premier Zweli Mkhize to fire MEC Sibongiseni Dhlomo.

Dhlomo used Durban’s only medical helicopter to attend a funeral in Hlabisa while a 15 year old car crash victim Asheen Maharaj waited in vain for an airlift.

Maharaj has since been declared brain-dead, while his family died in the accident.
DA deputy leader Francois Rogers said the MEC said he attended a matter of emergency dealing with violence, while he had gone to a funeral.

“We feel this type of behaviour and the sort of blatant misleading of the public, is unacceptable and have put an urgent appeal for the dismissal of  Dhlomo with immediate effect” Rogers said.
