Suspected robbers wound seven in Leondale

 Seven people have been wounded in a shootout between suspected robbers and police at Phumula Garden Mall in Leondale this afternoon.

Two of the wounded who were rushed to hospital are in a serious condition.It is alleged the suspects tried to rob one of the stores in the mall, when the police were called in.

Ekurhuleni Emergency Services' Rogers Maimela said police were still in pursuit of the other suspects.

Local paramedics managed to treat all the patients on scene.

 Some of the robbers who managed to flee to the nearby squatter camp in the vicinity were cornered by police.
