The Congress of South African Trade Unions in the Western Cape has called for a vote of no confidence in Premier Helen Zille.

Cosatu’s Tony Ehrenreich said the premier has consistently refused to work with labour on various socio-economic challenges facing the province.

Ehrenreich added that the bias and inability of leadership by premier Zille in De Doorns saga must raise serious questions as to the sustainability of the premier.

“She did nothing to bring the farmers and their workers together in their organisations to negotiate and mitigate this threat, and has cost two people their lives and millions of rands in damage” he said.
