Deliberations on the Protection State of Information Bill tabled in Parliament

The National Council of Provinces Today discussed the Protection of State Information Bill, with various organisations at the National Assembly. 

The Bill has been the centre of attention since it was proposed back in 2010.

Today the focus was on the clauses that the parties did agree on during the previous meetings.

Amongst other parties that were present in the meeting, The Congress of the People, The Democratic Alliance and the African National Congress.

Cope MP Denis Bloem said they agree with certain deliberations on the bill.

The Right2Know Campaign was also present at the meeting, the Group has been camping outside Parliament since Monday.

Right2Know provincial Spokesperson Cedile Nkwame said they want the whole bill to be scrapped.

Nkwame adds that their main aim for the camp is to highlight different issues in the society.
