15 people injured in an accident in Newtown

Netcare 911 paramedics together with rescue unit responded to an accident in Newtown Johannesburg whereby fifteen people were left seriously injured. 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Santi Steinmann said when paramedics arrived on scene they found that two minibus vehicles had collided resulting in fifteen people sustaining injuries ranging from moderate to serious.

Steinmann added that nine people sustained serious injuries and six people sustained moderate injuries.  The injured were then transported to various hospitals for further care.

The exact details of the cause of the accident and preceding events will be the subject of a police investigation.
