Two constables wounded during a shootout in Bulwer

North West Police confirmed on Monday that two Constables from Bulwer police station were allegedly shot and wounded during a robbery in the Bulwer area.

Captain Thulani Zwane police were alerted to the robbery and when they arrived it is alleged that the suspects opened fire towards the members wounding them.

Zwane said the suspects took the firearm of the police officers before fleeing the scene in their getaway vehicle.  As the suspects were getting away the suspects allegedly hijacked another vehicle which they used as their escape vehicle.

The wounded police officers were taken to hospital for treatment and are in a stable condition.
