The Western Cape government said it has continued to improve its financial governance in all of its departments and entities.

This was confirmed by the auditor General which issued the province with its best audit results yet on Monday.

Western Cape Finance and Economic Development MEC Alan Winde said the latest report card confirms the province has become better at managing public funds.

Head of the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Tammy Evans said that this year five departments achieved completely clean audits, an improvement on the four received last year.

Evans added that the above results speak to the dedication of all the finance officials of the province in managing public funds in manner that is above reproach.
