The African National Congress Youth League says it doesn’t believe there are factional battles within the ANC and the concept of the ‘premier league’ simply doesn’t exist.

It’s denied that premiers from the North West, Free State, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal are colluding to determine the ANC’s future leaders.

The ANCYL has hit back at the Young Communist League who have called on President Jacob Zuma to distance himself from the so-called 'premier league'.

The ANCYL says there is no need for the call because the group doesn't exist.

The YCL also claims that the 'premier league' caused factional battles within the party.
