South African
Broadcasting Corporation COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng says there's an agenda to try
and destabilise the broadcaster, but insists that investors are on board and he
has the support of both viewers and listeners.
Yesterday,
chairperson Mbulaheni Maguvhe called an urgent staff meeting and announced that
James Aguma has been appointed as acting CEO after Jimi Matthews
resigned on Monday.
Three senior
reporters also sent a letter to Motsoeneng, speaking out
against decisions they say are eroding the integrity of the corporation.
At
the same time, three other employees have been suspended for questioning
editorial policies.
