Police officer shot & killed in Delft

A police officer has been shot and killed, and another wounded in Delft.

Authorities say they were attacked by AK-47 wielding gunmen during a robbery at a filling station in the early hours of this morning. 

The suspects apparently wanted to blow up an ATM. Hawks spokesperson Lloyd Ramovha says, The 40-year-old constable succumbed to the injuries as a result, and the warrant officer who survived is at the hospital at the moment. 

The gunmen fled the scene, leaving behind their explosives.
