High Court to reveal whether President Jacob Zuma and the NPA can appeal its decision

The High Court in Pretoria will this morning reveal whether President Jacob Zuma and the National Prosecuting Authority can appeal its decision that the NPA must pursue corruption charges against the president.

Last month, three judges ruled that then NPA head Mokotedi Mpshe was wrong to withdraw corruption charges against Zuma in 2008.

But both Zuma and the NPA have applied for leave to appeal the ruling. The Democratic Alliance says it’s confident that the judges will deny Zuma and the NPA leave to appeal their decision.

A trial date has been set for October.
