The African National Congress says President Jacob Zuma’s Cabinet reshuffle was necessary and has added that it empowers women and youth.
ANC spokesperson Jackson Mthembu says after serious introspection on the performance of all ANC members appointed to Cabinet, the need to reshuffle to ensure effective service delivery became crucial.
Meanwhile, the South African Democratic Teacher’s Union has congratulated its former general secretary Thulas Nxesi on his appointment as Deputy Minister for Rural Development and Land Reform.
The union praises Nxesi as a realist and revolutionary.
Sadtu says he always fought for democracy, human rights, social justice and empowering the poor and marginalized.
