Residents from Alexander in northern Johannesburg are protesting this morning.
Protestors this morning burnt tyres and blocked roads leading into the area.
The police’s Makgomo Semono said, “They are protesting against the Department of Housing because they heard they are going to be removed from their place of residence."
People in the area were told that the informal structures in the area would be demolished but they did not know when it will be done.
It has been a peaceful protest in the area.
