The City of Cape Town has called for all residents to comment on its new draft tall building policy.
Residents of Cape Town will be able to review the policy next month.
The City’s spokesperson Kylie Hatton said the draft seeks to create guidelines for any construction of new skyscrapers in the city.
She added that the new policy seeks to strike a balance between the needs for economic growth and investment and the city’s natural skyline.
Hatton defined the type of buildings that will be reviewed in the draft.
She said that the buildings are defined as being significantly higher than neighbouring buildings.
Hatton said the public will be able to review and comment on the draft at municipal buildings which include libraries and sub-council buildings.
