Protest march granted

The City of Cape Town has granted permission for a planned protest march to take place at Rondebosch Common.

The protest which will be headed by the Congress of South African Trade Unions will take place on Saturday.

The city council’s Grant Pascoe said the relevant parties spent most of this week discussing the pros and cons associated with the upcoming protest.

Last week a protest march also took place at the common which led to numerous arrests been made by the  police.
