A 9-year-old girl is fighting for her life in the Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria after she was struck by a light motor vehicle on
Ivor Avenue
in Mountain View on Monday night.

The cause of the accident and the series of events preceding it remain unknown at this stage.

Netcare911 Paramedics said that common cause information suggests that the girl had ventured into the path of passing car which struck her and flung her body forward.

Netcare911 Paramedics said that they arrived at the scene to find her in a critical condition having sustained multi-system traumatic injuries.

Paramedics say her condition deteriorated drastically and she went into cardiac arrest prompting medics to start CPR.

Jeffrey Wicks said that advanced life support paramedics managed to stabilise her and she was rushed by ambulance to the specialist facility for further urgent care.

I read the Beeld news paper this morning and i live in Mountain View, and i am also part of the Sector Police and to me this is absolute Bullshit, This guy should have been arrested already, just because you are a Sector Police does not meen that you are the police, you still have to obey the road rules and not speed to a scene. We are there to be the eyes and the ears to the SAP not do their work, we are told at every meeting that we are to OBEY the rules of the road. This Specific Sector member has been warned by other members on numerous occasions that he is driving recklessly and speeding in residential areas! The members were not ever listened to and rather sworn at by this sector member. SAP Hercules will now begin with the cover up!!!!! We say ENOUGH!!!! Any other road user would have been arrested at the scene immediately!! A child has lost her life people, is it not time to stand up for something now???????????
