The Western Cape transport MEC Robin Carlisle has accused Cosatu and the Cape Chamber of Commerce of selling out train commuters.
This comes after the two organisations negotiated Metrorail train fare hike from 27-percent to 13-percent.
Carlisle says he had consistently pushed for increases to be limited to single digits.
Carlisle added that yesterday’s increases are on top of the 33-percent fare increase in 2010.
Carlisle further said that Metrorail's services have deteriorated significantly.
